Our members are sharing their feelings and memories of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
We are saddened to hear of the passing of our Queen yesterday.
The Queen, not only our monarch but truly a mother to this nation, the Commonwealth and the people. She was an extraordinary woman, the love for whom stretches far beyond the realms of her rule. The world at large will mourn her loss.
There are few who can claim to have achieved so much in their lifetime, to have touched the hearts of so many. Even among the monarchy itself, to have seen our great nation through so much with such poise and grace. Our Queen has always been, and will continue to always be, a shining example of dignity, dedication and composure. Her care for her country and her people shone through in every decade, every year, every minute of her reign.
There is something to be said for and taken from a gentle passing surrounded by loved ones after a hard job has been done so well for so long and she joins her beloved Philip again.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the royal family and indeed all who are saddened by her majesty’s passing at this time.
The City of Leicester Conservatives stand strongly behind the sentiment of the Prime Minister’s words.
Rest in peace your majesty and God save the king.

I am devastated by the news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II. She laid the foundation of modern Britain on which we all have grown and flourished throughout her reign of 70 years. She was loved and admired by the people in Leicester and all around the United Kingdom. It is a day of great loss. Queen Elizabeth II has left a great legacy for us to follow and we must shape up Leicester for a future which will bring pride to departed Queen.
Rest in peace your majesty.

It's such a sad day for our country. Our inspirational Queen has left us after the longest reign in our history. We will mourn our loss but she leaves a country that is proud to be British.
